To be a member of Cary Homeschoolers you must:

Be currently homeschooling or actively considering homeschooling one or more of your children.
Live locally and provide a local address. If you are moving to the Triangle from another area, please wait and apply after you have moved or have a local address.
Pay the $12 annual website fee.
Organize 2 activities per year or volunteer in another approved capacity.

Release and Waiver of Liability

I understand by submitting this Cary Homeschoolers membership form that our family is participating in Cary Homeschooler events at our own risk, and therefore we release Cary Homeschoolers, the Cary Homeschoolers Leadership Team and Executive Board from all liability. I also understand that being a member of Cary Homeschoolers involves responsibility, and I have read the Cary Family Bylaws and Policies, and will adhere to the guidelines set forth within it.

I also understand and give permission for Cary Homeschoolers to use pictures/images of my family members or myself in its private newsletter(s), website(s), and emails. I understand that no pictures of my child will be used on the public Facebook page or public website without direct permission. I understand that these pictures/images help to tell the story of Homeschooling and I release and hold harmless Cary Homeschoolers, and their photographers, agents, licensees, members, and employees from any and all claims and demands associated with this release, including all claims for libel. I also waive any claim for damages and any right to compensation that I may have for the foregoing. I also understand that CHS is comprised of many individual families, and that CHS is not responsible for the use of any pictures taken by members on other platforms.

If a member has sensitivity regarding photography of their child, we understand and respect there are reasons where this could be vitally important. Since our group is so large and meets with constantly varying families, we as an organization cannot enforce this situation for your family. We ask that if you are meeting with a gathering who does not know your needs, that you communicate with the parents so they can help respect your wishes. You may also contact the board at [email protected] with your concerns. We will do our best to watch out for photos of your child posted on the private website, and remove them if found. By signing this waiver, you are understanding that CHS cannot be held accountable or responsible.

Personal Information Sharing Acknowledgement

I understand that by registering with Cary Homeschoolers' online registration site that I will have the option whether to include my information in the member directory, which will be visible only to members registered in the CHS community. This information will include: name, email, telephone number, last date I updated my member profile, whether I fill a committee role and which role, and any comments I choose to write about my family. It does not include personal address. I also understand that I have the option to hide my children's information. I understand that I may adjust this preference at any time as a member of CHS.

I agree that I will not misuse the information of other members by:

Sharing Cary Homeschoolers' members' information with others outside our community
Sending personal business emails to those within the Cary community
Soliciting from any member of the Cary community
Using the Cary Homeschoolers website and forums as a personal emailing system for things that do not pertain to the Cary community.

Payment Instructions

Please take a moment to pay our $12 fee. This is charged upon joining and then annually in September, and covers the cost of our website. Instructions for paying via Paypal are below. If you wish to pay via check instead, please email us at [email protected]. Please note that payments to CHS are nonrefundable.
